General Vang Pao's Timeline

Pao Vang was born to his dad and mom, Phutong Neng Chu Vang and Song Thao in Phou kong Khao, Nong Het, District of Kieno Khouang Province, Laos.
He was a courier for the Hmong leader, the prince in Laos, and the French. He became apart of the army, and his father passed away . Pao was the only Hmong person attending French Police Academy, and was ranked 7 out of 56 students. Became a translator for the Japanese in Laos, and trains in Vietnam at a school, Laotians made him a leader. Got recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to lead a secret army of Hmong soldiers to go against Laotian Communists and their North Vietnamese counterparts. The Secret War just ended. Mr. Vang and many of his Hmong people moved from the mountain tops to the U.S. , and lived in Montana. Establishes an agency to help the Hmong society, called Lao Family Community Organizations Mr. Vang and a group of his allies formed Neo Hom, to helps the ones who remain in Laos to continue the fight to overthrow the Communists. He moves to California. He secretly meets up in Amsterdam and negotiates with the Vietnamese government officials about keeping a trading relationship with Laos and to have the Vietnamese keep the Hmong people safe by to pressuring the Laotians to stop provoking them. Vang Pao and eleven other people were being charged with trying to overthrow the Laotian Government. Many people protested for Mr.Vang to be released. Pao's case got dismissed in Sacramento. Approximately 10,000 Hmong people went to testify that he was innocent and supported him. General Vang Pao passes away from pneumonia at Clovis Community Medical Center, at the age of 84. |
